Buffer Vessels

What is it?

A Buffer Vessel is a tank that increases the volume of your heating system. The extra volume is designed to absorb extra heat generated from your heating source when you do not require it.

How it works?

The buffer vessel is designed to ensure the heating source does not short cycle. What this means is, when the heating travels around your building it is absorbed into the rooms. If it is not required and comes back at a high temperature, the heating source will not power up to heat the water. It will be stored in your buffer vessel. If the water comes back cooler as the rooms need the heat, the heating source will power up to ensure the water runs at the right temperature.

Buffer Vessels will only work with your heating system. They are not designed to be used for hot water for personal use, such as bathing and showering.

What are the benefits?

  • Ensures your heating technologies work at an efficient level

How much does it cost?

This depends on the size of Buffer Vessel you require and how many energy sources you want to utilise.
